Starting the Program

The Raise the Bar Youth Foundation (RTBYF) started a basketball skill training class three years ago with (9) children in an effort to provide instructions that would hopefully enhance the children involved basketball game. Currently, we not only offer our skill training class, we also offer youth leagues for beginning and advanced children, weekend tournaments, travel  ball (AAU) and lastly, youth skill training inside  elementary schools as well. The (4) services combined have more than 150 children participating in our programs and events. These numbers indicate that we have grown a great deal in our first two years and we are now looking to have our support system grow too.

How family support could help enhance the Program

The Raise the Bar Youth Foundation (RTBYF) is committed to enhancing our programs and services daily. For over two years we have run the program by providing outstanding quality services to our youth with very few resources at our disposal. We now are looking to grow and provide even more than we have in the past for each service we provide. In order to do this we need more support from our parents and participating staff first. Our foundation’s desire is to raise the level of what is expected from our children.  However, we believe that the adults have to first raise the level of involvement in our children. Therefore, we are making sure that we always provide our RTB family with the necessary information about what we are doing. There are so many things a parent can do to help us continue to grow but often times they don’t know what we need.  In an effort to help parents help us we’ve provided a list of ways a parent could help below.

  • Make Financial contributions
  • Donate time – (Coaching, concession, training)
  • Soliciting sponsors / grants.
  • Transporting kids to and from games / training.
  • Attending games to support your child as well as the RTBYF program.
  • Staying positive .
  • Sharing constructive criticism.
  • Purchasing Raise the Bar merchandise from our webstore to promote program awareness..
  • Place an emphasis on the success of the program and not just your child(ren).
